Tina Rogers - Alto
Tina, or Martina, to give her full name, is a Brummie born and bred. One of the original Credo Singers, she has loved singing all her life. She has wonderful memories of 'Singing Together' on the radio at school and taking part in performances at Birmingham Town Hall with the choir from her Junior school. Singing with an orchestra was just fantastic! The choir at St Paul's Grammar School was one of the best things about it, and Tina is still, to this day friends with her old choir mistress, with whom she travelled to school every day. A lifelong love of Britten's 'A Ceremony of Carols' began at this time. Between school and Credo, singing was sorely missed, but the intervening years brought work in Geneva with the World Council of Churches, at the BBC in Birmingham, marriage TO Mike, also now in Credo, and 3 children. They are all now grown up but love to sing (one of them, Beth, was also part of Credo for several years) and make music, so the song goes on! |
